United States soccer star Megan Rapinoe showed support for detained Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner while receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on Thursday.
As President Joe Biden put the medal around Rapinoe’s neck, a design on the lapel of her white suit jacket was apparent.
There was a rose with the letters “BG” next to it stitched in the same color as the jacket.
Rapinoe, who was one of 17 to receive the medal on Thursday, posted on her Instagram story the picture of the design on her jacket.

“The most important part of today,” she wrote on Instagram. “BG we love you.”
Griner remains detained in Russia on drug possession charges after her arrest in February.
She plead guilty on Thursday morning, saying she accidentally packed vape cartages with cannabis oil.
The State Department considers this a wrongful detainment.
