Rebuilding the Suns and adding any of these players would be a head-scratcher because they are just annoying.
Annoyance lingers throughout the rest of the NBA. It doesn’t just settle here in Phoenix, where watching the Suns for 82 games leaves you numb, like the guy in the cubicle next to you at your 9-to-5 job. You know you have to deal with him, but you have no choice but to put up with his gum smacking or ice crunching.
In the Phoenix Suns’ case, it was more about the careless passing and the constant struggle to stay competitive, game after game. But changes are coming…yep, changes are coming.
But what if those changes start to unfold after the NBA Finals end, and the offseason begins for the Suns. And you’re already annoyed by the mid-morning tweet from Shams Charania that says the Suns signed Player X, and you feel irritated?
What could be more annoying than the 2024-25 season as a whole? Maybe the Suns adding one of the following players to their roster.
These players are annoying in their own right and automatically put a sour look on my face. Not quite reaching for a paper bag to gag into, but more like a “Are you serious? That dude is gross” kind of feeling. Gross to watch, and their time is up—at least in my head—when it comes to watching basketball. I’m just done with these players.
Throwing out the contracts and second apron rules—because let’s be real, the Suns are likely moving on from Bradley Beal and trading away Kevin Durant—Phoenix might actually have some money to play with. And with that flexibility, the Suns could set their sights on one of the following players.
Please, Suns, don’t try to snag any of them.
Trae Young
There’s a player I’ve respectfully defended over the years, mainly because of the numbers he racks up season after season. But I’m officially on the last train out of Youngsville, and there aren’t many Trae Young fans left on board. Especially now, in an NBA era full of overemotional players begging for every call, even when the refs are already handing them the game.
I’ve had enough of watching Trae. Honestly, I forgot he even existed this season. And if the Suns decide to upgrade the point guard position again with a player of Trae’s caliber…sure, I could somewhat see the fit. But I wouldn’t be thrilled.
Trae might be a downright baby, and after watching him get ejected in his first play-in game, I wouldn’t even want him back on the Hawks’ roster if I were a fan. I’d be desperately counting down the days until the team finally moves on.

A player that has yet to play with another all-star, but is that because no one wants to play with him?
Trae is eligible for an extension after the 2025-26 season, but will the Hawks look to move him? I almost 100% guarantee they do.
D’Angelo Russell
Suns star Devin Booker once wanted to play with his friends Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell. Now, with the Suns possibly needing another starting guard, is Russell an attractive enough option to bring to Phoenix, especially if Booker still has strong ties to him and a say in the matter?
An unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason, Russell may not have many options with contending teams, unless the Suns view him as a potential backup point guard. Having started last season in a backup role with the Lakers, Russell might prefer to return to being a full-time starter.
Entering his 11th NBA season, Russell may have lost some of his once-streaky shooting touch and the upside he once offered as a good point guard. It would likely be frustrating for the Suns to sign him for anything more than $10 million per year.

Russell took a lot of the blame for the Lakers’ struggles at times, and it’s easy to imagine Suns fans reacting the same way if things don’t go smoothly.
He isn’t bad, just a scapegoat, and that is not the goat we need on this team.
LeBron James
I didn’t even have to try searching anything on Twitter (X). LeBron James was already annoying. Unless X is reading my mind. Which, let’s be honest, it probably is. But hey, at least it saves me the trouble of typing “LeBron James annoying” into the search bar.
Just look at him. Annoying.

If you watch the Suns JAM Session Podcast, you know I’ve always leaned in favor of LeBron. But ever since he somehow convinced Luka Dončić to join the Lakers, I’m out. LeBron can go kick a can. I’m done with the dude.
Now, if the Suns move on from Durant, and LeBron can’t make it work with Luka in the playoffs and decides he’d rather be the center of attention somewhere else, Phoenix would actually be the perfect destination. Expectations? Sure, there are some. But Suns fans are used to having our hearts served up on a plate and microwaved on high for 20 minutes.
So yeah, come to Phoenix, hold your big press conference at center court. I’m sure we won’t fall for that again. But let’s be real—Suns fans will get hyped over any big name walking through the door. LeBron would put butts in seats.
But having to deal with his legacy worship and another stat-chasing season? That might make me puke.
LeBron can opt out of his contract this offseason to become a free agent. Let us see how the playoffs play out, and we will know by the Western Conference finals whether LeBron will stay in LA or leave for another destination.
What players are out there that annoy? Which signings would piss you off? You know it’s going to happen, so let’s let it all out.
