Phoenix showed up for Steph, but not for the Suns.
Tuesday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors marked the 10th Phoenix Suns game I attended this season. Yeah, I probably should’ve attended more. As a credntialed member of the member, I take pride in covering the team and knowing that Dave King went to nearly every game possible, I feel as perhaps I’m doing it well enough.
That being said, I’ve never felt more ‘meh’ at a game in my life.
The energy in the building was high when I walked in, and we all know the reason why. Stephen Curry was in town, and his pregame warmups are must watch. It reminded me of going down to Bank One Ballpark nearly 30 years ago to watch Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds hit dingers during batting practice. If you had a ticket, you just didn’t miss it. Side note: no one hit ‘em like Big Mac.
So as I walked onto the court to find a seat, knowing I was a full 30 minutes early to Steph’s shootaround sesh, I was impressed to see the Curry effect in person. And when he came out, like Tupac, all eyez were on him.

That was the highlight of the night. Seeing Steph Curry seamlessly hit half-court jumpers, as a basketball fan, was simply fun to watch.
And then the game began.
Do you want a plethora of ways to describe last night’s game? I channel my inner Clark W. Griswold…
How’s Phoenix playing?
No-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, bloodsucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed…Hallelujah! Holy shit!

That’s right. We’re on the threshold of hell. Where’s the Tylenol?
Bright Side Baller Season Standings
Devin Booker wins it again for his 40-piece in MSG. He didn’t have much competition, winning with over 70% of the vote. That’s number 19 on the year.

Speaking of number 19, only five players have donned the number 19 in Suns’ history. The last player? Iffe Lumberg in 2022. The first time it was ever worn was in 1999, a full 31 years after the creation of the franchise. That was Louisville’s Alvin Sims. He was followed by Raja Bell, Hedo Turkoglu, and Leandro Barbosa, who wore it in his return to Phoenix in 2017.
