14-12 on the year. Is the bad for a $440+ million team? Asking for an owner…
The Phoenix Suns’ 120-111 loss to the Indiana Pacers was a frustrating display of squandered potential and uninspired effort. As six-point favorites, they failed to match the Pacers’ intensity. Instead, the team fell victim to their own lack of grit and hustle. Again. The Suns were outworked, surrendering easy buckets and wide-open threes. This wasn’t just a bad night. It was a deeper reflection of the team’s troubling trajectory this season.
Kevin Ray said during the broadcast that typically through 25 games you know who a team is, and that due to injuries, the Suns haven’t had a chance to establish that identity. I disagree. That is their identity. Injury-prone.

Lost on defense. A lack of focus or urgency. These too are aspects of their current identity. This is a team that appears mentally fragile and disengaged, particularly when facing adversity. Despite having a roster loaded with talent, the team often seems more focused on offense, neglecting adjustments that could strengthen their defense and prevent opponents from exploiting their weaknesses.
The Pacers entered attempting under 34 three-pointers a game. They prefer to beat you up inside. But your weaknesses shall become strengths against the Suns, therefore they went 16-of-41 from deep (39%), their fourth-most makes on the season.
Despite their talent, the Suns are a team adrift, plagued by mental, emotional, and tactical shortcomings. If these issues are not addressed soon, this season could spiral further out of control. The window for corrective action is closing, and without a renewed focus and commitment, the Suns risk squandering what should be a championship-caliber roster.
Bright Side Baller Season Standings
It was a few nights ago, but Tyus Jones was the community winner for his performance against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jones continued to outpace our expectations. A career year in points, three-point percentage, and minutes, he’s also played in every single Suns game this season. He’s durable. He’s consistent. He’s exactly what Phoenix needed. Thank you, Tyus. Thank you for stabilizing this team. Damn, I wish we could pay you next season.
