Until the deadline hits on Thursday, the Rockets will never give up and never surrender when it comes to trading for Booker…and even Durant?
It has been in the works for a while that the Houston Rockets are very interested in Devin Booker, and honestly, he is exactly what the team needs. Someone to rely on to hit shots to close games and also facilitate at times. This is the one thing the Rockets are missing, which is why the noise surrounding the Rockets and Booker will not die down until Thursday afternoon when the trade deadline hits.
If the Phoenix Suns are looking to get younger, the Rockets might be their way out of this mess—if they’re ready to kickstart the rebuild this week.

Amen Thompson is someone who is really intriguing, and when combined with a boatload of first-round draft picks, it might be an out for the Suns. But of course, it would have to be something that Booker wants.

He might be sick of the losing and doesn’t see a way for the Suns to get any better anytime soon and I don’t think holding him hostage here will do anyone any good.
It isn’t only Booker, but the Rockets might be after Kevin Durant as well.

If I were the Rockets I would go Book or stay home with their current roster, because Booker fits the timeline better as a player in his prime who can be a true leader and is ready to take on that role on a winning team.
If the Suns stand pat — neither cashing in on Booker and Durant at peak value nor making a bold play for Jimmy Butler — the rest of the season could turn into a slow-motion train wreck. That’s why they can’t afford to sit on their hands. A move needs to happen before this season slips from frustrating to downright unwatchable. Tick, tick…
