With 25 games left, the Suns begin a tough stretch to close out the season tonight.
Who: Phoenix Suns (27-30) @ Memphis Grizzlies (37-20)
When: 6:00 pm Arizona Time
Where: FedEx Forum — Memphis, Tennessee
Watch: AZFamily, Suns Live
Listen: KMVP 98.7
Time will tell whether the Phoenix Suns can turn things around with a tough stretch of games coming up on their schedule. There is still a little bit of hope, but with tonight’s game against a Memphis Grizzlies team built on strong defense and length, we will see the Suns’ true colors as they compete against real competition now.
You might think we already know who the Suns are, and their true colors have shown over the past week since returning from the All-Star break. However, I also believe the Suns, deep down, feel they should beat a San Antonio Spurs team without Victor Wembanyama or a Toronto Raptors team focused on losing.
Tonight against Memphis, the Suns will rise to the occasion and fight hard to stay alive in the playoff race, aiming to prove to their fans that they still have a shot at this.
However, a team looking this defeated after a loss might find it too difficult to bounce back.

Twenty-five games remain, and anything can happen. But with a team looking this defeated after losing to the Raptors on Sunday night, is there any way they can fight through the rest of the season?
I don’t think so. But maybe…just maybe.

What to Watch For
Ja Morant
The Grizzlies have been a top-three seed for most of this season, but there isn’t much belief in them as true contenders. The reason? Ja Morant isn’t what he used to be and has yet to prove he can return to his previous level. Like the Suns, the Grizzlies have 25 games left, and this stretch should be the start of their push to prove they are contenders. By ramping up Ja for the remainder of the season, the Grizzlies will likely focus on reintegrating him, starting tonight, as he still isn’t quite right.
I have a strong feeling that we will start to see more of the old Ja tonight.

Why? Because the Suns are the perfect team for him to exploit, with players like Grayson Allen and Tyus Jones, whom he can switch onto and take advantage of.
I expect Ja to drop 40 points before heading to the bench with about seven minutes left in the game as the Grizzlies build a 32-point lead.
Jaren Jackson, Jr.
Jaren is the backbone of this Grizzlies team, and it up there with the greats when it comes to his performance on the floor this season.

The pairing of Jaren and Ja will make for an interesting night of basketball. A true test to the Suns.
Prediction
A pummeling by the Grizzlies. 144-109.
I am going to cry.
