The lifeless Suns have just three games left this season.
Who: Phoenix Suns (35-44) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (65-14)
When: 7:00 pm Arizona Time
Where: Phoenix, Arizona — PHX Arena
Watch: AZFamily, Suns Live
Listen: KMVP 98.7
The Suns will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight in downtown Phoenix. Each team is on the second of a back-to-back with the Thunder flying in from OKC after taking down the Lakers last night.
Phoenix currently trails the Mavericks by 3 games. The Kings are in. The Suns’ only hope is if the Mavs lose out and the Suns win out. Dallas will finish the season against the Lakers, Grizzlies, and Raptors.
Here are the current standings entering play today:
- 9. Kings — 39-40 (clinched play-in spot)
- 10. Mavs — 38-41
- 11. Suns — 35-44 (3 GB)
With four game days left in the regular season, the only teams to clinch their seed number for the postseason are the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in each conference.

It’s been over, but yeah, we can chalk this one up as DONE. Finished.
The Thunder won both meetings against the Suns this season, including an emphatic 140-109 victory in early February.

The injury report is not out yet for each team, but with nothing to play for, I would not be shocked if we saw some key names sit this one out. Especially given that each team is on the second of a back-to-back.

Thunder
- Jaylin Williams — OUT (ankle)

- Ajay Mitchell — OUT (toe)

What to Watch For
Thunder Struck
OKC has the most complete team in the NBA this season, with a lethal combination of capable two-way players. Their youth, athleticism, and defensive versatility make them dangerous. They have won 65 games, after all.
They have locked up the number one seed in the West, and at this point, these games are just maintenance and fine-tuning as the focus is on entering the playoffs healthy and clicking.
It’s a deep squad that can beat you in a variety of ways.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is fresh off a masterful performance against the Lakers last night, posting 42 points in their home finale.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stamping a brilliant MVP season with a 42 point performance vs the Lakers in the OKC home finale should be a bigger talking point today.pic.twitter.com/Rsm3Zlcfhh

Youth Movement
Collin Gillespie, Ryan Dunn, and Oso Ighodaro have seen an uptick in minutes, and that should continue. With just three games left, it’s going to be about developing the young guys and letting them play with zero leash.

There isn’t much else to get into when it comes to basketball discourse. This team is checked out, and the energy level is nonexistent. The defense gets worse every game, and the collective mindset of this group seems to be focused on Cabo rather than the Play-In Tournament.
If you are still tuning in, you are a confirmed sicko and we appreciate you and your loyalty. It has not been easy to get through this season.
This was a great recap from Duane Rankin before leaving the arena last night.
Can’t leave the arena without addressing what I saw tonight.

Key to a Suns Win
The Thunder not caring and resting their guys? The Suns caring?
That trio is the combination that could equate to a Suns win. Anything else, and you can chalk it up as another L to add to the streak.
Prediction
Phoenix drops this one. Things continue to get worse.
Suns 103, Thunder 115
