Grayson Allen made headlines for the wrong reasons during this Saturday’s playoff game between the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves.
During the third quarter of action, Allen elbowed Mike Conley in the face as he was trying to put up a shot. He was immediately called for an offensive foul.
The officials reviewed the play, but didn’t assess a flagrant foul to Allen. NBA fans, however, thought that was a mistake.
Basketball fans around the country called out Allen for this foul. They thought he clearly elbowed Conley on purpose.
“Lead elbow is one thing but trailing one is 100% intent in my opinion,” a fan wrote.
Another fan tweeted, “Your periodic reminder that Grayson Allen should have been barred from basketball years ago.”
“What a surprise,” a third fan sarcastically said.

At the very least, this was a questionable decision from Allen.
Later in the third quarter, Allen left the floor with an injury. It occurred on a collision with Karl-Anthony Towns.
Allen has been a key contributor for the Suns, averaging 13.5 points per game while knocking down 46.1 percent of his attempts from the 3-point line.
