The rookie will most likely miss the Suns game against the Mavs.
Phoenix Suns rookie Ryan Dunn has had quite an impact to open his career. While he’s 8th on the team in total minutes played (126.8), he’s 5th in three-pointers attempted, hitting an impressive 45.5% of them. He’s posted a 106.1 defensive rating and a 6.2 net rating. He has given Mike Budenholzer an option to insert into the lineup when an opposing player is starting to feel himself.
Playing well? We’ll put you in the Dunngeon.
In the fourth quarter against the Miami Heat, Jusuf Nurkic brought the Footprint Center to life with a 28-foot three-pointer as the shot clock expired. The crowd erupted as the ball swished through, narrowing the deficit to 90-89. It was his third three-pointer of the game, a personal best since joining the Suns.
But what you may not have noticed on that play was the player who passed him the ball fell to the floor out of bounds and twisted his ankle. That player was Ryan Dunn.

After the game, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reported seeing Ryan Dunn limping noticeably following that critical play. Dunn’s limp raised concerns about his health going forward, especially given his impact in recent games. Known for his defensive intensity and hustle plays, Dunn’s presence has been a stabilizing force on both ends of the floor.

Today, the Suns have listed rookie Ryan Dunn as doubtful for Friday night’s showdown against the Dallas Mavericks.

Dunn’s potential absence could impact the Suns’ game plan, particularly on the defensive end, where his energy and physicality have already made him a fan favorite. His skill at defending multiple positions has allowed Phoenix to mix up their coverage, making it harder for opponents to find mismatches.
Against a team like the Mavericks, who rely heavily on Luka Dončić’s offensive prowess, Dunn’s likely absence could leave a rotational gap in their ability to disrupt plays on the perimeter and contest drives in the paint.
Will we see Josh Okogie make his debut? We’ll know tomorrow night.
