The marathon continues.
After a two-year absence from the NBA, 35-year-old Isaiah Thomas has fought his way all the way back into the Association by landing a 10-day contract with one of the most dangerous teams in the West.
Per NBA insider Shams Charania: “IT is back: 11-year vet and two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas is planning to sign a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, sources tell [The Athletic].” Noting, “Thomas averaged 33 points on 45 percent 3-point shooting for Salt Lake City in the NBA G League, scoring 30 in four games.”
The Suns were one of the first stops of Thomas’ career after leaving the Sacramento Kings in his mid-20s and served as the launching pad for him to shine as the lead guard in Boston.
However following back-to-back All-Star seasons with the Celtics, a hip injury derailed what was looking like the beginning of a Hall of Fame-type career.
But Thomas has found a way to overcome every setback and obstacle in his way thanks to his dedication and love of the game.
Now the 5-foot-9 veteran will attempt to be a spark plug off the bench for a Suns team that has title aspirations thanks to the trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
