The Phoenix Suns were mentioned as the top team for Butler via ESPN, with Butler suggesting why.
If there wasn’t enough drama between Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat, and the Phoenix Suns, there is now. We’ve been covering the saga here at Bright Side, and it continues with news reported on Friday.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne dropped the latest on Butler’s conversations with the Heat in a story. Butler, who is reportedly interested in the Suns, had a jaw-dropping quote about the state of the team, per a close friend.
“If they’re doing this transition to Bam and Tyler, Jimmy’s like, ‘Fine, do your transition,’” a source close to Butler said. “If [he’s] going to be the second or third wheel, [he’ll] be that in Phoenix to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.”
How do you feel about this?
According to ESPN’s @ramonashelburne, multiple people inside the Miami Heat organization have “grown weary” of Jimmy Butler, who’s set to return Friday after serving a seven-game suspension.@mph_824_ with more! #HEATNationhttps://t.co/rXvcdSFRjz

In other news, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported the Suns are open to trading their 2031 first-round pick in a deal for Butler. Phoenix could use its only first-round pick to further go all-in for a championship, even though it is currently sitting at 20-20.
Butler is a 35-year-old star, but it is very likely he may have played his best basketball in his career. He twice led the Heat to the NBA Finals and had some stellar individual performances. It’s worth noting that Butler alone made the Heat a contender without a second superstar.
Could Butler turn to the Suns and replicate that success next to Booker, who to many is the NBA’s best scorer when he’s on his game, and Durant, a 36-year-old superstar who still is playing at an MVP level? That will be the big question as the trade deadline approaches Feb. 6.
Butler will return tonight as the Maimi Heat take on the Denver Nuggets, as reported by Chris B Haynes.
