Simone Biles has earned the admiration of her fellow American athletes from all corners of the sports world.
On Thursday, Biles wrapped up her second Olympic women’s all-around gold medal, becoming the third woman all-time to win the honor twice. She held off Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade for first place, while Team USA’s Suni Lee won bronze.
Biles secured her win with an electrifying 15.066 score on the floor exercise. Shortly after she clinched gold, Team USA forward and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant called her the “GOAT” on X/Twitter.
“Goat Biles,” Durant wrote.
Durant, who is arguably the greatest American international men’s basketball player in his own right, then went one step further, suggesting that Biles could throw one down if given the opportunity.
“I really believe Goat Biles can catch a lob and finish. #bounce,” he said.
It would be fun to see Biles get a chance to dunk, as she’s already proven she can conquer every single aspect of the gymnastics world.
“It is crazy that I am in the conversation of ‘Greatest of all athletes’ because I just still think, ‘I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas who loves to flip,'” Biles said Thursday, via ESPN.
Biles, who now has six Olympic gold medals all-time, will also be competing in the finals for the vault, balance beam and floor exercises.
The vault final is scheduled for Saturday, with the beam and floor set for Monday.
