Kevin Durant is expected to miss at least one week with a left ankle sprain through the Phoenix Suns’ three-game road trip. The Suns are 1.5 games out of the Play-In while also holding the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA.
Durant suffered the injury stepping on the foot of Jabari Smith Jr. on a drive to the basket in Sunday’s loss by the Suns to the Houston Rockets. Durant has suffered a left ankle injury three times over the past two years.
Durant is widely expected to be traded by the Suns this offseason. Durant is averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season. Durant can become an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
