The social media manager for Adidas fired off a tweet at Suns star Kevin Durant this Friday that immediately caught people’s attention.
It all started with Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards revealing which NBA player he’d love to see rocking his new Adidas shoes, the AE1.
“Kevin Durant,” Edwards said. “He’s with Nike. I want to see him put on these one time in a game.”
Durant quickly shot down that idea, tweeting, “Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers.”
Adidas came to Edwards’ defense by sending this reply on Twitter: “u dusty bouta retire soon anyway.”

This comment from Adidas was deleted shortly after, but screenshots are forever. It’s unclear if the person who sent this tweet will be disciplined for it.
Durant, 35, is certainly in the back half of his career. Nonetheless, he remains one of the best players in the league, averaging 31.3 points per game this season.
