Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant wasn’t a fan of some comments that rapper Fat Joe made on a recent podcast and wanted to set the record straight on social media.
On a recent episode of the Roommates Show, Fat Joe made the claim that during a game at Rucker Park back in the day, Durant was playing so well that his opponents wanted to physically harm him. Fat Joe also claimed that Durant was ultimately chased out of the park by angry players.
But Durant made it clear that Fat Joe was lying. Taking to X on Thursday, Durant called it “another podcast lie” and asserted that there was “nothing but love and respect” on that fateful night in Rucker Park.
“Another podcast lie. It was nothing but respect and love out there that night, didn’t feel unsafe for one second,” Durant wrote on X.
Basketball fans aren’t giving Fat Joe nearly as much credibility, with some declaring that they knew he was lying before he even opened his mouth.
“It’s Fat Joe. We already knew it was a lie before he started the interview,” one user wrote.
“I wish more and more of these athletes call out these podcast lies man, respect to KD for saying how it was/is,” wrote another.
“We need more players like KD who played at the highest level & was top 15 player all time talk more especially about basketball,” a third declared.
Durant is gearing up for another playoff run with the Suns. The team has two games left to try and secure a high-enough record to bypass the Play-In Tournament and.
