How the Phoenix Suns front office set the team up for failure.
We asked you a couple of days ago who you believed was at fault for the downfall of the 2024-25 Phoenix Suns. Before we get into this, I just want you all to know that everyone in this article is to blame. No party is excused from this disastrous season, but some have caused more harm to the organization than others.
The results of our poll are in. 71% of the community pins this on the front office.

3. The Players
Like I said earlier, they are the ones who are out there. They must try to win, but you cannot fault them sometimes. All of us who have played know what it is like to deal with a poorly constructed roster. It does not make the game easier or more enjoyable for you on a nightly basis. Therefore, I cannot put all the blame on them.
We have seen what these guys can do, and in Phoenix too.
- KD can be the number one option on a winning team
- Book can be the two options but if needed, can deliver as a one

These are known facts, but they cannot help the rest of the roster, which shares the same play style.
2. The Coach
Yes, Coach Bud has been awful. Even recent news of him calling out Devin Booker is starting to make fans, including myself, question him more. He has made some questionable decisions in rotations and limited the voices of our leaders. Yet he was hired by the front office. They chose Bud as the “perfect fit” and as we see, that is the oppostite compared to last year.
I was one who was against the coaching carousel to start this week, but this has changed my persepctive. The Suns need a new coach once again, yes. They need a player developemntal, smart, x and o’s type of coach. One who is going to gel with the players and hold himself accountable.

1. The Front Office
These are the main culprits in my eyes. They get the final decision. They are the ones who build this roster. They are the ones who willingly built a team around three ball-dominant scorers. They are the ones who also thought it was wise to add more shooting and scoring for the bench. They never thought of defense; they just thought we could outscore everyone.
If the NBA had three basketballs in play at once, I’d say this is a no-brainer, but obviously, it’s not that way. Whoever makes the final decision on this roster needs to be evaluated, as they have done a terrible job of managing assets and building a contender at the same time.
