The Suns cannot catch a break. They’ll be without Durant for at least the next three games.
It has been a nightmare of a season. Just when you think things could not get any worse, they do.
The Phoenix Suns will be without Kevin Durant for at least the next week due to the left ankle sprain he suffered midway through the third quarter against the Houston Rockets last night.
Phoenix Suns All-Star Kevin Durant is expected to miss at least one week through team’s three-game road trip with a left ankle sprain, sources tell ESPN. Suns are 1.5 games out of Play-In with the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA.

To add insult to injury, the Suns lost their superstar forward in a game they were getting destroyed in. They will now travel for a three-game road trip, for which Durant will be absent.
The next three games? They will be on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and the New York Knicks.

The way their schedule works out, their 4th game after this stretch comes next Tuesday, giving Durant a chance to suit up after 8 days of rest.
We are approaching the point where a bad road trip (going 1-2 or 0-3) could enable the Suns/Durant to take the “shut it down” approach.
After the road trip, the rest of their schedule doesn’t get much easier with the Warriors and Thunder on deck in Phoenix.
