The Suns have reportedly found a new head coach for the 2023-24 season.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Suns are finalizing a deal with former Lakers head coach Frank Vogel.
Charania is reporting that it’s a five-year, $31 million deal for Vogel.
Of course, the highlight of Vogel’s coaching career took place during the bubble. The Lakers won the NBA Finals in 2020 with him at the helm.
Vogel, 49, last coached the Lakers during the 2021-22 season. He took the year off after being fired.
Over the course of Vogel’s career, he has constructed top-notch defenses. Phoenix is hopeful that trend will continue.
Although the Suns aren’t exactly loaded with defensive specialists, the dynamic duo of Devin Booker and Kevin Durant should excite Vogel.

Vogel will replace Monty Williams, who had a 194-115 record with the Suns. He was just hired by the Pistons this week, landing a six-year, $78.5 million deal.
Time will tell if the Suns made the right decision replacing Williams with Vogel.
