Jimmy Butler has been traded to Golden State. It’s finally over.
The best part about the trade deadline is that there is indeed a… deadline.
We can finally put the Jimmy Butler rumors to rest as the Golden State Warriors have acquired Butler in a 5-team trade.
Butler plans to sign a new two-year, $121 million extension with the franchise through 2026-27.

Dennis Schroder is headed to Utah, and Kyle Anderson to Toronto as part of this multi-team trade. PJ Tucker is being rerouted to Miami as well.
Phoenix has long been rumored as the heavy favorite in the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes, with Butler going as far as to say that Phoenix was the only place he’d re-sign.
Things have quickly changed as of just two days ago Shams said Jimmy would “only commit to Phoenix, not Golden State, not anyone else.”

It goes without saying that this eliminates the Durant to Miami rumor and by default Durant to Golden State which had already been squashed.
Without Jimmy Butler, the Suns’ pathway to improve significantly in the short term becomes murky. We will keep you posted on the latest as the news comes in.
In the meantime, we have a game soon…
