The Valley Suns continue to wheel and deal.
The Valley Suns on Monday announced a trade for the returning rights to guard Paul Watson from the Austin Spurs in exchange for the returning rights to Matt Lewis and Lindell Wiggington.
Watson, a Phoenix native, averaged 14.5 points and 4 rebounds with the Austin Spurs last season. He holds averages of 10.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 165 G League games and has played in 45 NBA games with the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
He scored a career-high 30 points against the Orlando Magic when he was with the Raptors.
Watson graduated from Paradise Valley High School in 2013, ranked as the 9th overall prospect in Arizona and 703rd nationally, according to MaxPreps. Though he received offers from Arizona State, Boise State, and Colorado, he ultimately chose Fresno State. During his four seasons with the Bulldogs, he averaged 10.1 points per game and was named the 2014 Mountain West Conference Rookie of the Year.
The Valley Suns inaugural season starts next month, November 8, against the Santa Cruz Warriors.
