The Phoenix Suns executed a monumental trade on Sunday, dealing for Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal.
In the process, they traded Chris Paul to D.C. Paul is not expected to stay with the Wizards though, meaning we’ll have to wait and see where the 12-time All-Star plays next season.
The Los Angeles Clippers, where Paul played from 2011-17, have already been mentioned as a potential option, but NBA insider Shams Charania dropped another intriguing potential suitor during an appearance on FanDuel TV Monday.
Charania told the hosts that in addition to the Clippers, the Golden State Warriors “discussed potential deals with the Suns” prior to Paul getting shipped to the Wizards.
Which team would be the best fit for CP3?
“The Wizards are gonna try to see if they can flip [Chris Paul] to a 3rd team… The Clippers, The warriors – Those are 2 teams that did discuss potential deals with the Suns prior to this trade going down” – @ShamsCharania#RunItBack pic.twitter.com/vrhlXI6s1O

The Warriors have some other things they need to take care of, such as Draymond Green opting out of his player option and entering free agency, but it will be interesting to see if they ultimately pursue Paul.
In addition to acquiring Beal, Phoenix also added Jordan Goodwin and Isaiah Todd in exchange for Paul, Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks and multiple pick swaps.
The deal enables the Suns to build a “Big 3” of Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
