The Arizona Cardinals are in offseason mode and we are still weeks away from free agency and months from the NFL draft. Over the next little while, we will take a look at each player on the roster or signed to a reserve deal and break down where they stand with the team.
We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is tackle Paris Johnson Jr.
2024 Paris Johnson stats, season
Johnson, in his second season after being selected sixth overall in the 2023 draft, moved from right tackle to lest tackle, replacing D.J. Humphries, who was released in March.
He started 14 games before suffering a strained MCL and missed the final three games of the season.
He was called for three holding penalties in 2024 and, according to PFF numbers, allowed three sacks and 16 total pressures after six and 27 as a rookie.
He was very good for the first half of the season and had a slight decline before his injury.
2025 contract status
Johnson enters the third year of his four-year fully guaranteed contract with a fifth-year team option. He will be paid more than $3.3 million in salary and bonuses, and his contract counts $7.65 million against the cap.
Outlook for 2025
Johnson, assuming he fully recovers from his knee injury, is expected to be the team’s starting left tackle again. He is being counted on to be one of the best in the league.
