The Arizona Cardinals are in offseason mode and we are still weeks away from free agency and months from the NFL draft. Over the next little while, we will take a look at each player on the roster or signed to a reserve deal and break down where they stand with the team.
We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is wide receiver Michael Wilson
2024 Michael Wilson stats, season
Wilson almost accomplished something he hasn’t done in many years — not miss a game. He played in the first 16 games but missed the season finale.
His production in his second NFL season was similar to his rookie year. He had 47 receptions (more than his 38 in 2023) for 548 yards (less than his 565 in 2023) and four touchdowns (he had three as a rookie).
He was reliable but not massively impactful with five games with more than 50 receiving yards. His best games were in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions with eight catches for 64 yards and Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers with five catches for 78. His 78 in Week 5 were his season-high.
He began to see more snaps out of the slot late in the season.
2025 contract status
He enters the third year of his four-year rookie contract. He will make $1.24 million in 2025 and count $1.46 million against the cap.
Outlook for 2025
He is in line to be a starter again. Quarterback Kyler Murray is a big fan of Wilson. The coaches love him. He adds value to the run game. He doesn’t demand the ball and is a great teammate.
He will most certainly be part of the playing rotation in 2025, even if someone is added to play more.
