Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list on Monday. That doesn’t mean he will though.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cardinals are not expected to take Murray off the PUP list next week.
Murray, who tore his ACL last December, is apparently “weeks away” from returning to action.
“It just doesn’t feel like [Murray’s return] is imminent,” a Cardinals source told Schefter.
Under the NFL’s current rules, Murray will have a five-week window to resume practicing. If he’s unable to return to the practice field during that stretch, he’ll remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the 2023 season.

The good news for the Cardinals is that Murray plans on suiting up this season. Per the report from Schefter, the former No. 1 pick is slowly ramping up his recovery process.
When healthy, Murray gives the Cardinals the best chance to win. The Oklahoma product is just so dynamic and can make plays off script.
In the meantime, Josh Dobbs will run the show for the Cardinals. He has 549 passing yards, 93 rushing yards and three total touchdowns this season.
