The Arizona Cardinals have a potential offseason need at inside linebacker, with Kyzir White scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent next month. A very talented and productive linebacker could be an intriguing option for them in the trade market.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt has requested a trade.
Pratt has played six seasons for Cincinnati and will turn 29 in the spring. He has had at least 91 tackles in each of the last four seasons and at least two interceptions in each of the last three.
In 2024, he logged 143 total tackles, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. That came after a 2023 season in which he had 118 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
He has one year remaining on his three-year, $20.25 million contract. He is due $5.25 million in non-guaranteed salary, plus up to $250,000 in roster bonuses and a $100,000 workout bonus.
What is a player like Pratt worth? That is the question. Would the Cardinals want to give up a Day 2 or Day 3 pick? And a trade would likely come with the expectation of a new contract, so the Cardinals would be committing money to a player who would turn 30 in 2026.
If they wanted a 29-year-old linebacker, they could always re-sign White, although Pratt has definitely been a more productive player.
With former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo now with the Indianapolis Colts, it feels like they would be a good trade match.
We will see if the Cardinals end up showing any interest in Pratt.
