Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not have the rookie season many hoped he would. As the No. 4 overall pick, most thought he could have a huge rookie year, catching 90-plus passes and amassing over 1,100 yards. While a few rookie receivers had big seasons, Harrison’s first year was simply okay.
But, looking ahead to 2025, in ESPN’s early predictions for the upcoming season, Dan Graziano predicts Harrison will have a breakout sophomore season.
How quickly we forget, right? Everybody thought Harrison would slide right into NFL stardom, but it can take a minute even for the can’t-miss guys. Harrison still has all the skills that made us love him heading into the draft, plus a year in the league.
He caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024, which was fine. It was great in terms of team history as he had the second-most receiving yards by a rookie in franchise history and tied Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin for the most rookie receiving touchdowns.
There were plays left on the field, for sure, and he looked at times very much like a rookie.
But with a year under his belt, the skills and the focus are there.
A big year in 2025 wouldn’t be a surprise.
