The Arizona Cardinals are the best fit for the Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher.
We have talked plenty about the 2025 NFL Free Agents and one has consistently been mentioned with the Arizona Cardinals.
Today, ESPN+ dropped their “Best team fits for top 50 players” and you’ll never guess who was on that list for the Arizona Cardinals.
From E$PN:
“7. Josh Sweat, Edge
Best team fit: Arizona Cardinals
Cardinals coach John Gannon worked with Sweat in Philly, so he knows what he’d be getting in the 6-5, 265-pound edge rusher. Sweat had eight sacks and 33 pressures in the regular season, and he took over at times in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX win, recording 2.5 sacks. Sweat would add much-needed pass-rushing juice to Gannon’s defense, using his speed-to-power to get to the QB.”
We have talked about it plenty, but adding Sweat to the defense would be a huge boost this offseason. He’s had his most productive season with Gannon, and would be the alpha in the room immediately.
The price tag is where it will get interesting.
PFF has Sweat at $18 million a year, as does Spotrac.
That would seem like a bargain if Sweat brings what he has done in Philly to Arizona.
