The Arizona Cardinals add help along the front seven in the newest mock draft.
Happy Thursday evening one and all.
The Arizona Cardinals and the NFL are waiting for the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season, and in doing so we are waiting on the offseason to start and especially the 2025 NFL Draft process.
PFF dropped another mock draft and has the Arizona Cardinals taking an edge rusher.
From PFF:
16. Arizona Cardinals: OLB Jalon Walker, Georgia
While Walker played both on the edge and off-ball at Georgia, he has quickly emerged as a promising edge defender, where he’s shown the most upside. He also thrives in big moments, recording all four of his sacks in 2024 against College Football Playoff teams (Clemson, Texas and Tennessee).
With Jonathan Gannon looking to revamp a pass rush that ranked 29th in pass-rush win rate, Walker would be a natural fit on the edge for this Cardinals defense.
The Cardinals need some help at both positions, so getting a guy who can line up and win at a number of spots on defense could be interesting.
He had 6.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss in his final season at Georgia, and can bring the athleticism and versatility the Cardinals need in the front seven.
