The Arizona Cardinals have to force more turnovers in the future.
For the Arizona Cardinals, it’s been a slow positive growth the last two seasons, the first two of the Jonathan Gannon era.
They moved from 4-13 to 8-9.
They moved from 24th in scoring offense to 12th and 31st in scoring defense to 15th.
They’re moving in the right direction but there’s one jump they didn’t make in 2024.
One thing that we will explore throughout the offseason is what the Arizona Cardinals need to do to enter the fray as a playoff team in 2025.
However the biggest thing they have to do for next season is find one thing… turnovers.
Creating turnovers is something that has been missing from the Jonathan Gannon era.
Oh sure, it improved in 2024, they were 27th in 2023 and 20th this season, but there’s actually a secret…
They only forced 17 turnovers both seasons.
If you look at the playoff teams this year, the only teams outside of the top half of teams were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders.
I think most would agree that only the Ravens are serious Super Bowl contenders and they have one of the three best quarterbacks in the league.
It’s hard to win games when you don’t force negative plays from the other side m.
If the Arizona Cardinals want to take the next step, this is one of the biggest improvements we need to see.
The Arizona Cardinals have to start creating turnovers, or they’ll never get to where they want to be.
