The Arizona Cardinals have been active on the trade market today. Their latest deal is with the Cleveland Browns.
Arizona has traded a 2024 fifth-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for quarterback Joshua Dobbs and a 2024 seventh-round selection, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
In addition to trading Dobbs, the Browns also released quarterback Kellen Mond this afternoon, but will reportedly pull him off waivers.
Either Mond or fifth-round rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be the backup quarterback behind Deshaun Watson.

The Browns signed Dobbs back in March after he spent part of the 2022 season on their roster without appearing in a game.
Dobbs did make two starts for the Tennessee Titans last year, completing 40-of-68 passes for 411 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Dobbs was originally a fourth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017. He completed 10-of-17 passes for 45 yards and one interception in six appearances with Pittsburgh in 2018 and 2020.
In Arizona, Dobbs will be in the mix with rookie Clayton Tune and veteran journeyman Colt McCoy for the chance to start with Kyler Murray still recovering rom last season’s ACL tear.
The Cardinals have made three trades today in total, also sending linebacker/safety Isaiah Simmons to the New York Giants for a 2024 seventh-round pick and offensive tackle Josh Jones and a 2024 seventh-round selection to the Houston Texans for a fifth-round pick.
