This week Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray declared that he was back after missing the first six weeks of the season with a knee injury he suffered last year. But will he be back in the Cardinals’ lineup for Week 7 against the Seahawks?
Unfortunately, he will not. On Friday the Cardinals officially ruled Murray “OUT” for Sunday’s game against their NFC West rivals.
Murray has not played since suffering the injury against the New England Patriots in Week 14 of last season. The team has gone just 1-9 in his absence and is just 1-5 on the 2023 season so far.
Though prior to the injury, Murray did appear to be regressing. His numbers were down from his previous, Pro Bowl year even before he suffered the injury.
It does the Arizona Cardinals no favors for Murray to return before he’s healthy, especially now that the team is 1-5 and effectively out of the playoffs.
How soon will Kyler Murray come back? Will the team go the extra safe route and just shut him down for the season?
