The Arizona Cardinals have been playing a little bit better lately after starting the year with a 1-8 record. But their chances of finishing the year strong might not be so strong without star wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that Brown will not play Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. He has been dealing with a heel injury and has barely practiced this week.
Brown is the Cardinals’ leading wide receiver with 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns. Only tight end Trey McBride has more receptions and yards among pass catchers on the team.
Brown has also managed to avoid missing a game this season, but was injured against the San Francisco 49ers and did not get targeted in this past week’s game.

At 3-11 on the season, the Arizona Cardinals are probably the only team that will be picking in the top five this year that don’t need a franchise quarterback. That will either give them the opportunity to draft Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison, or trade down for a haul of draft picks.
If the Cardinals can bring Harrison into the fold, he and Brown could instantly become one of the NFC’s most promising wide receiver duos.
Will Brown have a better campaign in 2024?
