The Arizona Cardinals are set to release a recent draft pick.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cardinals are planning to cut linebacker Myjai Sanders barring a last-minute offer.
Sanders was picked in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft but hasn’t worked out the way the Cardinals hoped he would.
In 13 games last year, he finished with 23 total tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three passes defended. He has yet to play in a game this year because of an injury.
He opened the season on injured reserve and was designated to return to play a week ago.
The Cardinals will have two weeks to try and trade Sanders before the NFL Trade Deadline occurs on Halloween (Oct. 31).
We’ll see if anyone tries to trade for the second-year linebacker out of Cincinnati.
