The Arizona Cardinals are in full offseason mode after missing the playoffs, going 8-9 in the 2024 season. They faltered down the stretch after entering their bye 6-4 and in control of the NFC West.
Now they have a lot to do this offseason.
How are they viewed compared to other teams?
ESPN released new offseason power rankings, and the Cardinals did not even make it into the top 20.
They come in at No. 21.
The Cardinals saw last season that they’re capable of putting together winning football and sustaining it, albeit for a short amount of time. The playoffs were within reach in November, but a late-season drop-off depleted those hopes. If they can plug the holes on offense and defense, starting with help on the edge rush, the postseason can be a legitimate possibility in 2025. In addition to another pass rusher, Arizona could use another receiving target, top-tier cornerback and more help on the defensive line.
They do have holes to fill. They need guards. They need edge help. They have no depth at defensive line, although the starting lineup seems set. They could need a starting inside linebacker.
They rank just ahead of the Chicago Bears and just behind the Miami Dolphins.
They are the lowest-ranked team in the NFC West, as the Los Angeles Rams are the top of the division at No. 12, followed by the San Francisco 49ers at No. 13 and then the Seattle Seahawks at No. 15.
