The Arizona Cardinals announced promotions and new additions to their coaching staff on Wednesday, and it came with a surprise change. Outside linebackers coach Rob Rodriguez was not retained after two seasons coaching their edge defenders.
The team announced the new outside linebackers coach is Matt Feeney, who spent the last three years with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Cardinals said goodbye to five coaches from their 2024 staff.
Linebackers coach Sam Siefkes became the defensive coordinator for Virginia Tech.
Offensive line coach Klayton Adams became the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cardinals did not bring back defensive line coach Derrick LeBlanc, who now is the assistant defensive line coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With Rodriguez leaving, the other assistant not returning (which also went previously unreported like the other three aforementioned changes) is Ronald Booker, who was the defensive quality control coach.
Booker had been with the team for four seasons, two as a defensive assistant and the last two as defensive quality control.
