The Arizona Cardinals made room in a recently bolstered backfield.
Arizona released running back Keaontay Ingram from their 53-man roster on Tuesday. The Cardinals also cut offensive lineman Ben Stille and released offensive lineman Austen Pleasants from the practice squad.

Ingram turned 35 carries into just 74 yards this season. The 2022 sixth-round pick received his most opportunities when touching the ball 12 times for 51 yards in a Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
However, Ingram was inactive for Sunday’s rematch and the previous Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans.
James Conner returned from the injured reserve in Week 10, and the Cardinals later signed Michael Carter. The former fourth-round pick played 27 snaps in his team debut, tallying 34 scrimmage yards on four handoffs and four catches.
Emari Demercado also returned from a toe injury that cost him three games. The undrafted rookie has 274 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in nine games this season.
Arizona’s offense received another major boost when welcoming back Kyler Murray from an ACL tear this month. The dual-threat quarterback has run for a touchdown in each of his three games, including a 25-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cardinals rank 10th in rushing offense with the third-most yards per carry (4.8) behind the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens. Yet the NFC West team is 2-10 with the league’s second-most points allowed per game (26.8).
Arizona will seek its first road victory of the season when facing the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.
