The Arizona Cardinals were not part of the head coaching hiring cycle this offseason as Jonathan Gannon enters Year 3 in his position as head coach. But the NFL was busy with other teams looking for new head coaches.
The final domino fell this past week as the New Orleans Saints hired former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their new head coach.
The Cardinals will face three of the newly hired head coaches in 2025.
They will face Moore and the Saints on the road.
They face the Dallas Cowboys on the road, who hired Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach. In that game, they also will face a familiar face as the Cowboys’ new offensive coordinator is Klayton Adams, who was the Cardinals’ offensive line coach for two seasons.
They take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at home in 2025. Their new head coach is Liam Coen.
In 2024, the Cardinals faced four teams with new head coaches — the Washington Commanders (Dan Quinn), Los Angeles Chargers (Jim Harbaugh), New England Patriots (Jerod Mayo) and Carolina Panthers (Dave Canales). They went 2-2 in those four games.
