The Arizona Cardinals have a chance of playing in an international game this coming season as a road team. However, they will not be part of the first-ever NFL game in Brazil.
The NFL announced that the Brazil game will be between the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles, with Philly being the designated home team.
That game will be the second NFL regular-season game of the year. The 2024 season opener will be on Thursday, Sept. 5 with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting a team. The Packers-Eagles game will be Friday, Sept. 6 at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo.
While the Cardinals will not be part of this game, they are a footnote in history related to this game. It is the first opening-weekend Friday game the NFL has played since 1970, when the Cardinals (then in St. Louis) played on the road against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 18.
Aside from the local markets of the Eagles and Packers, the Brazil game will be available exclusively on Peacock, NBC’s online streaming service.
