The Arizona Cardinals add a pass rusher and off ball linebacker in the newest mock draft.
Happy Sunday one and all.
While I am busy doing offseason football work, Daniel Jeremiah, one of the forerunners of the NFL Draft business, is dropping his first mock draft of 2025.
In this iteration, he has the Arizona Cardinals going back to the Steve Keim days.
From NFL.com:
16. Jalon Walker, LB – Georgia
Walker is a bit undersized as an edge rusher, but he offers an intriguing mix of length, explosiveness and playmaking ability.
Here is the thing about Walker.
He is really good, so I don’t want anyone to think I am speaking negatively about the player, however we are talking about a player who is listed at 6-2 245lbs, his career high in sacks is 6.5, which he achieved in 2024, and he is a combo linebacker.
So, he is good, but will he fit a need that the Arizona Cardinals need to fill?
Interesting after the Tyler Booker discourse… Booker goes 10th overall in this one. So, again, let’s take a beat on all the “he sucks,” “of course they give the Cardinals a reach” yada, yada, yada.
This time of year, the mockers are going off what they are hearing, and obviously Kiper and Jeremiah are hearing good things on Booker.
As far as Walker, love the player, but like D.J. Reed in the PFF article, is that where they need to invest.
