The Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator is going to interview for the Chicago Bears job.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a season where they went 8-9, finishing 12th in scoring offense, 11th in total yards, 18th in passing and seventh in rushing, and they ended up being a good offense.
That means that guys will begin to get some looks, even if they are cursory, and one of those guys is Drew Petzing, who is going to get an interview for the Chicago Bears to be their next head coach.
The #Bears have put in a request to speak with #AZCardinals OC Drew Petzing, source said, a rising, impressive coach.

This seems like one of those interviews that won’t go very far, not because Petzing isn’t worth it, but more because there seems to be a bevy of experienced head coaches who are interested in this job, but there are some things that make sense.
First, the Arizona Cardinals only gave up 30 sacks, which is good compared to the 68 given up by the Bears.
Then there is also this… Bears President Kevin Warren was with the Minnesota Vikings front office while Drew Petzing was coaching with the Vikings, working his way up from offensive assistant to wide receivers coach.
It’ll be interesting how fast the cycle moves, with a number of jobs available thus far:
Does Petzing get a job in his first go around as a head coaching candidate? We shall see.
