The Cardinals have not had any DT slobber knocker quite like KG for what feels like decades
Morning Coffee:
This morning this question from kualla83 came to my attention:
Thank you for asking, I appreciate the question, kualla83.
Here they are:
Over the past few days, while watching and absorbing the results at the NFL Combine, I have been trying to narrow down my #1 choice for the Cardinals in 2025. Here are the players I have been considering the most:
- Best Fit DI —-> Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
- Best Fit ED —-> Jalon Walker, ED, Georgia
- Best Fit ILB —-> Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Each of these 3 players, I believe, would be a “nifty fit” coup for the Cardinals —- 3 players who stood out at arguably the top 3 defensive programs in college football.
Hence, seeing as the Cardinals are basically rebuilding a defensive front seven from scratch, if all three of these outstanding players are on the board at #16, then as Bill Parcells always contends, “you build it from the inside first.”
Morning Breakfast:
This message from AZ Jace was in my X mailbox this morning, which felt all the more timely:

Especially because our good friends Brett Kollmann and E.J. Snyder of Bootleg Football are so sky high on the defensive slobber knocker from Michigan. This interview will fire you up! Personality-wise KG reminds me a lot of PJJ.
Morning Glory:
Was pretty sure they would highlight this freak of nature play:
This is some kind of special from Kenneth Grant, stud DT from Michigan. #cardswishlistat#16 https://t.co/OTNz5qYWFW

The Cardinals have #78 available —- would love to see Kenneth Grant fill out that #78 in our Arizona Cardinals’ uniforms, wouldn’t you?
Could be a timely choice as well, because Mike Macdonald, one of his Michigan DCs, is picking at #18 and the thought of the Seahawks having Kenneth Grant join Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II in their front seven would be unbearable.
Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh, who won the 2023 Natty with KG (seen celebrating above) and crew, is picking at #22.
Morning Catch:
Check out the catch KG makes off a batted pass at the 1:30 mark of this video and treat yourself to watching the whole highlight package.
When scouting players, always look at their feet first. When the feet are impressive —- you typically have an outstanding player on your hands. In this case, remind yourself that Kenneth Grant’s feet are powering a 6-3, 340 all-terrain vehicle.
