It looks like Marvin Harrison Jr. will be keeping his signature jersey number in the pros after all.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, this year’s fourth overall pick shared a photo of the Cardinals red home jersey with his name and No. 18 on the back.
Harrison wore No. 18 at Ohio State, but second-year linebacker BJ Ojulari already had the number and it was one he rocked dating back to his days as an LSU Tiger.
The former OSU star wasn’t left with too many options if he wasn’t able to grab No. 18.
Harrison wore No. 8 in high school at St. Joseph’s Prep but that number is retired by the Cardinals for Hall of Fame DB Larry Wilson. His dad’s No. 88 also isn’t available after Arizona retired it for the late J.V. Cain.
Rookie minicamp gets underway for the Cards on Friday so we’ll be able to get our first look at MHJ on the practice field with his 18.
There’s no word yet on if there was any sort of agreement between Harrison and Ojulari regarding the jersey swap. But fans won’t be able to buy an 18 jersey of their own until the exciting young rookie decides sign with the NFLPA.
