Merry Christmas one and all to those of you who celebrate.
To everyone else, Happy Holidays from Walter and I here at Revenge of the Birds.
It’s family time as always, and reflecting on how much I am fortunate to have, even while trying to make this Arizona Cardinals season matter.
My oldest graduated from high school in May after making all-region in baseball and helping his team win their first playoff game in school history by knocking in the winning run.
He is now working towards his EMT.
Then we have my second oldest who showed everyone how much he is willing to sacrifice for the game he loves.
My son tore up his shoulder in quarter two of game one of the season, and played through the entire year, earning all-region honors.
He had successful surgery after his team unfortunately fell short in the semi-finals, but he proved to anyone that ever doubted him that he is everything you want in a captain and leader on your team, doing all this as a junior.
My middle son had a stellar freshman campaign for one of the best schools in the state, then was called up to varsity for their state playoff run.
He led his freshman team in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, while also doubling as their top defensive back.
My youngest sons team won their second straight championship, and he ended up moving to kicker for the first time in his career, and after going up 14-0 in the championship, he decided to take a gamble and onside kick it. We recovered and went up 21-0 before the half and never looked back. No one knows he made the call on his own.
Finally, my daughter is following in all of her brothers footsteps and decided to start with her own football career, hopping in with the rest of the girls getting into flag football.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy the time.
