Fans in the desert couldn’t be more excited to get their hands on a No. 18 Marvin Harrison Jr. jersey but right now it’s impossible.
The Cardinals rookie has yet to sign the NFLPA’s licensing agreement which would allow the league to use his name, image and likeness for merchandise, promo and EA Sports’ “Madden NFL” video game series.
Nearly every player signs it because it’s the only way they can make money off jersey sales. However, Harrison’s NIL deal with Fanatics from his days as a Buckeye make things a bit more interesting.
The No. 4 pick could stand to make more money off his jersey by renegotiating and selling it as a Fanatics exclusive.
So far MHJ has been pretty tight-lipped about his plans and what would get him to sign the Players Association’s deal.
“I’ll continue to talk to my team and we’ll do what’s best for me moving forward,” Harrison said at his introductory press conference. “We’ll just take it one day at a time. I just got drafted so I’m trying to enjoy the moment and be happy while I can at the moment.”
Outside of his partnership with Fanatics, Harrison has also signed on with New Balance and appeared in a Head and Shoulders commercial.
