The Arizona Cardinals were quite active on the trade front on Thursday.
They started the day off by sending linebacker Isaiah Simmons to the New York Giants for a seventh-round pick in next year’s draft. They then sent tackle Josh Jones and a seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans for a fifth-round pick before ending the day by trading a fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for Josh Dobbs.
The #Cardinals have made three trades today:
– Traded LB/DB Isaiah Simmons to the #Giants for a 7th-round pick.
– Traded OT Josh Jones and a 7th-round pick to the #Texans for a 5th-round pick.
– Traded a 5th-round pick to the #Browns for QB Josh Dobbs and a 7th-round picks.… pic.twitter.com/WsB2HMYyYp

With these moves, they basically traded Simmons and Jones for Dobbs and a seventh-round pick.
It’s a bold strategy but the Cardinals are unlikely to be good this upcoming season so they don’t care as much. Quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to be out for most of the season, which means one of Colt McCoy or Dobbs will be the starter.
The vibes may be down for Cardinals fans this season but at least they were entertained by a flurry of activity on Thursday.
