Come vote for where you believe each position group should be ranked
Some of you who disrespect and/or dismiss Mike Clay might want to sit this one out. I think that Mike Clay is way more than just a Fantasy analyst. His 2024 NFL Projections Guide is an 80-page extravaganza. He even goes to the extent of projecting the stat lines of every NFL team’s starter and rotational players. I mean, who does that? It’s a fascinating and provocative read.

I don’t happen to agree with Mike on a number of his assessments. Few people do —-> which is why his rankings make for good discussions.
For each of Mike Clay’s offensive position rankings, you will have a chance to vote Over —- Ditto —- or —- Under on his position ranking for the Cardinals
- Over means —-> the ranking should have been higher.
- Ditto means ——> the ranking seems just about right
- Under means —-> the ranking should have been lower.
After we vote on the defensive rankings as well (next thread), I am going to forward the results to him.
QB: —-> #17
My vote: Ditto. I am hoping for a big QB jump for the Cardinals this season, but for now this ranking seems about right. I am still having problems ranking Kyler above Geno Smith. Not in terms of pure talent, but in terms of consistent production and higher passing efficiency the last two seasons. Plus, Geno is 3-0 vs Kyler. But I think that Desmond Ridder and Clayton Tune are better than Josh Howell and P.J. Walker.

RB: —->#20
My vote: Over: I would rank our RBs at #8. The RBs may well be the deepest and most talented position group on the Cardinals’ offense.
Your vote?
WR: —-> #26
My vote: Under. To be fair, because of how unproven the Cardinals’ WRs unit is, at least to start the season, it likely deserves to be ranked behind the Saints’ and Steelers’. And I think it’s a toss-up with the Bills’. So, somewhere between #28/#29 should probably be a more suitable ranking. Mike projects Marvin Harrison Jr. to have 83 catches on 119 targets for 1,121 yards and 6 TDs which would rank him #13 in NFL. He has Zay Jones going for 44/78 for 555 yards and 3 TDs, ranking #78. Alas, his projections for Michael Wilson (48/72 for 55 yards and 3 TDs, rank of #81) and for Greg Dortch 18/28 for 200 yards and 1 TD, rank of #114) are very disappointing.

TEs: —-> #13
My vote: Ditto. Of course, I believe that the Raiders’ TEs (Bowers, Mayer and Bryant) should be #1. I think that the Cardinals’ #13 TE unit ranking is a huge credit to Trey McBride, because the other three are relatively unknown as of yet (but I am hoping will turn some heads this season).
Your vote?
OL: —-> #31
My vote: Over. #12 seems about right for a group that shines in the running game and struggles with consistency and penalties in the passing game. But #31 is just plain wrong.
