Could the Arizona Cardinals move on from Jalen Thompson this offseason.
The Arizona Cardinals have some decisions to make heading into the 2025 NFL offseason and one big decision is who they may need to move on from.
Over the Cap has one player and it makes sense, as they have listed Jalen Thompson as the one player from the Arizona Cardinals who could be cut.
Jalen Thompson’s cap situation in 2025 is $13.75 million.
Cutting him would cost the Arizona Cardinals $7.17 million in dead money and give them a savings of $6.57 million in cap space.
With the Cardinals drafting of Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and then re-signing Budda Baker, can the cardinals afford to have over $30 million in salary at the safety position?
The answer has always been no, and it has nothing to do with Thompson, it’s just poor roster construction to have that much money in the safety position.
We will see where the Cardinals go with the roster construction this offseason, but trimming the safety position makes sense.
