Former longtime NFL assistant and Arizona Cardinals head coach Vince Tobin passed away on Monday at the age of 79.
Tobin, who led the Cardinals to a 9-7 season and playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys in 1998, is the brother of former NFL general manager Bill Tobin and the uncle of current Cincinnati Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin.
Prayers and well-wishes have been pouring in for the Tobin family from NFL media and fans alike.
“Deepest sympathies to coach Tobin’s family. One of the nicest men I’ve ever come across in pro sports,” said Altitude TV’s Vic Lombardi. “Used to host the Vince Tobin Show way back when in Phoenix. He absolutely hated doing media. But he did it with a smile on his face. RIP to a great man!”
