The Arizona Cardinals could get something done with their All Pro safety.
The Arizona Cardinals have had a great first 10 games, well an unexpected very good first 10 games, and there is not much that makes fans wonder about the future.
There is one lingering issue though, and that is the Budda Baker situation, where Baker is a free agent in 2025.
Well, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, there is some belief that the Cardinals can get a deal done.
From E$PN In$ider:
The people I’ve talked to believe there’s a realistic chance Baker and the Cardinals can reach a deal before free agency. Baker prioritizes winning, so if he believes he can win big in Arizona, staying there is a viable option. The Cardinals have shown encouraging signs in recent weeks. Baker is also about his business, as he showed with an April 2023 trade request. So the Cardinals would have to pay up for a 28-year-old with five consecutive Pro Bowls.
Bringing Baker back would allow this season to not just be a success, but would seem to be something that is sustainable.
Now, I do feel like there is a limit to what the Cardinals can and should offer Baker, but if the two sides can come to an agreement on something that benefits both parties, then this should be done sooner than later.
