Terry McDonough, a former executive for the Arizona Cardinals, is facing disturbing accusations this week.
McDonough has been accused of choking a neighbor. He’s reportedly expected to be in court on April 11.
According to court documents from Mecklenburg County, the neighbor alleges that McDonough “put his hands around his neck” after chest-bumping him. He has also been accused of shouting “obscenities and derogatory terms” during this exchange that happened on March 12.
The victim in this situation claims McDonough was upset about his lawn getting damaged by tractor equipment.
The man added that McDonough “has a history of volatile behavior and also (was) publicized in national news related to a case he has with the Arizona Cardinals. He tried to strangle me unprovoked and both me and my family do not feel safe.
McDonough made headlines last April when he filed an arbitration claim against Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill. He said Bidwill made him and former head coach Steve Wilks use “burner phones” in 2018 to communicate with then-general manager Steve Keim. At that time, Keim was serving a five-game suspension.
While this situation involving McDonough’s neighbor is entirely different, it’s not the first time that he’s been at the center of a legal issue.
